Great British beer hunt

I was luck enough to be asked to taste and judge a number of new beers which would go on sale in Sainsburys next year. The event took place at the new home of Salford city reds next to Barton aerodrome and i was allowed to take a guest, I invited my good pal and real ale lover chris who i knew would appreciate the trip. We went to the tasting room and was given a long list of beers with a brief description at the side of them . Our job was to choose by looking at the bottles on display eight beers that appealed to us then go and get the eight samples to see which ones tickled the taste buds. I chose { as you can see} a variety of blonde, malted and stout ales and chris did the same. Once the chore of drinking these was done  we needed to pick our best four to be put in the ballot box and the one which gets the most votes wins. I must say most of the beers were palatable but Tod's blonde was not to our taste and after passing it round the table we came to the same conclusion, Crap! . After posting our votes we went to the next room were we met all the brewers and sampled a few more beers and filled our boots with all the fantastic cooked meats and cheeses on display. I must admit my judgment would of changed if i had met the brewers first, and it goes to show you should never shop with your eyes. One surprise beer we enjoyed was Batemans Mocha which we did not pick as the name said coffee and not ale to us but after tasting it was a cracking stout, so i renamed it Eno's Forecast after the sexy black weather woman . We had a good chat with loads of nice people and the JWLees rep gave us a few beers to take home for helping him through the doors. To end a good afternoon we watched the Goodyear blimp land at aerodrome { at the second time of asking}. Can't wait for the next one or even a whiskey tasting not fussy me.
